In 2019 the second largest provider of IVF services joined Global-Mark, now we have the three largest IVF providers in Australia as our clients. Global-Mark has issued 83 certificates under the domestic Code of Practice and 8 in New Zealand.
In 2020 we will continue working with the New Zealand Ministry of Health to review the NZ8181 Code, which is aligned to the New Zealand human services program.
Maria and Donna attended the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproductive Endocrinology (ASPIRE) in Hong Kong, luckily just before the demonstrations started. Since ASPIRE we have had several clients request assessment against the International version of the Code of Practice. Two more clinics in Kuala Lumpur, one each in Borneo, Tianjin, China, Hanoi, Da Nang, another in Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong. Once these clinics are on board, we will have 20 international certificates. Singapore remains the only country to legislate RTAC certification, however Vietnam has released its own Code of Practice, with three clinics gaining local certification. Vietnam will be a “watch this space” country as they progress with their own Code.
The current RTAC Scheme has been reviewed in 2019 and is awaiting JAZ-ANZ approval, this will be a very important step for the Code of Practice as it will allow Global-Mark to formally issue international certificates under the JAS-ANZ banner.
We have a tight knit team in RTAC, with Dr Adrianne Pope and Donna Close the primary Auditor/Technical Expert’s ably assisted in QMS and NZ8181 aspects of RTAC by Wendy Adams. We have three external Technical Expert’s for file reviews.
Auditing in non-english speaking countries is sometimes a challenge, however the staff in the Vietnamese clinics are so lovely, it makes it an absolute pleasure. They were very patient and accepted our findings with such a humble attitude for improvement. They also love photos at the end of the audit. Adrianne and I feel very fortunate to have these opportunities.
