With Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand having adopted ISO 45001:2018 for re-issue as AS/NZS 45001:2018, AS/NZS 4801: 2001 has been listed as superseded. Our accreditation body, JASANZ, has now set some firm timelines and requirements around transitioning from AS/NZS 4801 to ISO 45001.
The migration cut off date has been set as 13 July 2023, We recommend that transition activities commence as soon as possible, and in almost all cases any newly issued AS/NZS 4801 certificates will have a shortened expiry consistent with the cut off date.
There may be instances where you are required to maintain AS/NZS 4801 due to requirements in legislation/regulation, and in these instances we may continue to certify you to AS/NZS 4801 until such time as the regulators/scheme owners amend those requirements. You will need to share documented evidence with us at each audit demonstrating the ongoing need to maintain AS/NZS 4801 certification.
Although transition activities may be completed in line with your current scheduled audit events, it has been mandated that we must spend one additional audit day reviewing the requirements of this new standard and how you comply. This may result in a change to your fee structure, but your Client Manager will work through this with you. We have developed a Gap Analysis checklist to help you identify any gaps during transition. To obtain a copy or for more information please email our Customer Service Team or speak to someone in our team on 1300 766 509.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to our office or your Client Manager if you have any concerns or queries about this transition.
