ISO 50001
ISO 50001 was published on June 15th 2011. It is becoming an increasingly popular and recognised framework worldwide gaining momentum as communities and business leaders around the world start to take pro-active steps to manage their energy efficiency.
With global warming and the high cost of energy, Directors, CEOs, managers and supervisors are being held increasingly accountable for their site/operation’s energy performance (or lack of). Mandatory reporting requirements are becoming tighter, and are increasing the need for systematic management of this aspect of an organisation’s performance. Efficient energy usage can provide a significant competitive edge for an organisation, especially in light of energy cost increases and the greenhouse gas footprint costs.
ISO 50001 certification will help your business to:
• Reduce energy related operational costs
• Increase energy efficiency
• Support energy conservation
• Reduce greenhouse gas or other air emissions such as NOx, Sox and VOCx
• Improve use of energy assets
• Refine energy procurement practices
• Demonstrate a commitment to sustainability
• Enhance competitiveness
ISO 50001 uses many of the same principles and structures of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, so if an organisation already has a system in place compliant with these standards, it may seriously wish to consider integrating the two systems.

NSW Government Environmental Management System Guidelines
NSW Government Environmental Management System Guidelines were developed to facilitate the achievement of improved environmental performance by the construction industry.
Compliance with the NSW Government Environmental Management System Guidelines is a key element of the Procurement Policy Framework of the NSW Government Agency. Compliance is assessed through a document review process undertaken by a qualified Lead Auditor.
A Global-Mark certification to these guidelines demonstrates that your system complies with these requirements.
