1. Tell me about your company – what industry you are in and what does your business do?

Our team prides itself on providing our clients a first-class service with the highest standard of workmanship and specialises in multiple shoring and stabilisation works, namely piling, anchoring, shotcreting, formwork, steel fixing and concrete pumping. We provide highly experienced, dedicated engineering and labour professionals focusing on efficiency, productivity, and delivering a high standard of service.

We are leaders in providing cost-effective and innovative solutions. Over time, Ormond Civil has built a portfolio of successfully completed high quality works, on time and under budget. At Ormond Civil, we assure attention to detail to all of our clients irrespective of the size of the project or scope of works, and always produce the results that our clients desire.

2. Can you please provide some top-level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?

Our organisation has approximately 30-40 employees across the office and site staff. We are currently located right beside Port Botany in Banksmeadow and have been here for just over 4 years! We have completed some major tier & Government projects over the last couple of years, some of which include Sydney Football Stadium, Waterfall Train Station, Pitt Street Metro, Erskineville Railway & Gundaroo Bridge.

3. Why did you go through certification?

We decided to go through with Global-Mark Certification as we knew it would open a lot more doors for us in terms of the direction, we wanted to take the company in. The Global-Mark Certification demonstrates an organisations compliance to the requirements of specific Australian, New Zealand, International standards, or industry codes of practice. Being Global-Mark certified means we have access to a lot more government jobs and people trust our company knowing we are fully certified to get the job done. There is a growing awareness and expectation in the construction community that everyone deserves a safe workplace, by having a Global-Mark Certification it ensures our employees, clients and even ourselves as a company that we are on the right track to eliminate, reduce and control these risks.

4. How did you find the process with Global-Mark?

The Process with Global-Mark has been seamless every time. This year was slightly different however due to the COVID 19 Lockdown and restrictions still being in place back in October, our auditor David was unable to physically attend our office this time, so we worked together to complete the audit remotely. After a couple of weeks David responded letting us know that we had passed our audit with flying colours!

5. What is your outcome e.g. are you happy with the outcome?

As a company it is very important to us to have the correct processes & procedures both internally in our office and for our clients & employees on site, being certified by Global-Mark means we have the reassurance to know that these processes and procedures are in place and working well to keep our staff safe & also accountable for their actions as well as ours. The outcome we received was a very positive one and makes us proud to know the hard work we do all year long is paying off.

6. Are there any other business benefits you experienced as a result of becoming certified?

The benefits of being certified are endless for us in the construction industry and we are extremely proud of our business. We have our Global-Mark certificate hanging in our office building, it also appears on the bottom of all our email signatures and every letter, invoice, or document we send out. When clients and staff see our Global-Mark certificate, they know they are in safe hands.
