Monash Surgical Private Hospital (MSPH) was established in 1991 and is a purpose-built facility to cater for day surgery. It functions as a for profit, free standing day surgery facility dedicated to the provision of world leading surgical techniques, especially in relation to the specialties of Gynaecology and IVF. It is located in Clayton, in the south eastern area of Melbourne and within the medical precinct with close links to Monash Medical Centre and Monash University.
At MSPH, we work hard to ensure that our patient’s journey with us is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and their expectations and goals of care are met. Our team of staff across the entire hospital are committed to providing the highest standard of patient centred care in a safe, effective and friendly environment. With the support of eminent medical research leading to further advancement in medical outcomes, MSPH collaborates with Monash IVF, to achieve the best results for the patient. Providing the very best in medical equipment is paramount, as is the provision of a safe, caring and rewarding working environment for hospital staff.
The hospital prides itself on achieving and consistently maintaining excellent results throughout its Quality and Continuous Improvement Programs. We engage with our consumers at every possible opportunity, and we have recently redesigned our website and are in the testing phase of our new patient portal.
Our certification journey commenced in 2000 under the ACHS EQuIP program and over the years, we have fostered a strong culture for quality improvement at all levels of the organisation. It is intrinsic in everything we do and as a result, we have always maintained our accreditation status with excellent results. The hospital transferred across to Global-Mark at the beginning of 2019 and our first assessment was delayed by 12 months due to COVID-19. We were audited by Global-Mark in April 2022 and we can proudly announce that we were awarded accreditation under the National Standards Second Edition with only three “Met with Recommendations”. This is an outstanding achievement, and it is a testament to the teamwork, dedication and passion of all the staff and doctors involved in this journey.
We had a very positive experience with Global-Mark and the assessors made our team feel very comfortable and they were always respectful. The entire process was very clear and relevant, and we received useful feedback during the assessment which will be applied in practice. The introduction of the RiskClear risk management system was a game changer to our accreditation experience.
