1. Tell me about your company – what industry you are in and what does your business do?
Joonya does mainly subscriptions of essentials for young families – think nappies, wipes and toilet paper. Selling mainly online via joonya.com as a direct to consumer brand, we have strong relationships with our customers and are known for our non-toxic, earth-friendly products.
2. Can you please provide some top level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?
Joonya currently has only a handful of staff, with many roles performed by freelancers. We are a real family-run business and a husband-wife team from the beginning in 2016 when we first launched our website. For now we have a virtual office location and all staff work remotely. We may choose to get an office, but we find the remote office jobs are what’s wanted these days, and we can open up our search to a broader array of candidates rather than just locals.
We are selling our products in both Australia and the USA, with more markets likely to be added in the future.
3. Why did you go through certification?
We wanted as many relevant certifications as possible, and the FSCⓇ license was well up the top of our list. We are still the only fully licensed and audited nappies and wipes brand that we know of in Australia.
4. How did you find the process with Global-Mark?
Global-Mark have been a pleasure to deal with from day one. They are practical and yet true professionals. What more could we want!
5. Are there any other business benefits you experienced as a result of becoming certified?
The FSCⓇ certification helps us to have strong processes in place that we may otherwise not have, being a small business. Auditing keeps us on our toes and paying attention to ticking all the boxes.
