Dina Uniforms has evolved into one of Australia’s largest providers of uniform and complete wardrobe management solutions. Founded in the 1970’s by two tailors in Smithfield, Sydney. Dina specializes in the development of authentic, innovative, and sustainable wardrobe solutions that are fit for purpose. Dina prides itself on providing a personalised and flexible approach, delivered through its commitment to superior service.
Classic Sportswear is an iconic Australian apparel company, which has been manufacturing high quality sportswear for almost 90 years. Established in 1934, it remains 100%Australian owned. Classic Sportswear is unique in the Australian apparel industry. With our factory and an in-house art and design department, we have complete control of all production capabilities and the supply chain.
2. Can you please provide some top level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?
We have around 100 staff working across the businesses with our Australian Head office located in Kirrawee within Sydney’s Sutherland Shire and our warehouse located in Rydalmere. Offshore in China at our factory, there are approximately 1000 staff.
3. What motivated you to pursue certification?
Our motivation to pursue certification was multifaceted and aligned with our organizational goals. Firstly, we recognised the importance of meeting industry standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Certification not only provides a structured framework for achieving this but also demonstrates our commitment to quality and safety. Additionally, we were motivated by the desire to meet the evolving expectations of our customers. Certification serves as a tangible proof of our dedication to delivering high-quality products/services, thereby enhancing customer trust and satisfaction. Internally, the certification process allowed us to assess and improve our processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Achieving certification also provides us with a competitive advantage in the market, helping us differentiate ourselves and attract customers who prioritize certified, reliable partners. Overall, pursuing certification is an integral part of our long-term strategic vision for sustainable growth and excellence.
4. What was your experience like when working through the certification process with Global-Mark?
Our experience working through the certification process with Global-Mark was both challenging and rewarding. We began by thoroughly preparing for the certification, conducting internal assessments, and identifying areas for improvement. This led to our Managing Director the importance of having a dedicated employee in this role full time to keep up with all our compliance requirements.
The collaborative effort across different departments was crucial, and our teams worked seamlessly to align with the certification requirements. Communication with Global-Mark was effective, and their guidance proved invaluable throughout the process. While we faced challenges, such as working in uncharted territory, our organisation demonstrated resilience and problem-solving skills, ultimately overcoming these hurdles. The timelines set by Global-Mark was reasonable, and our organisation efficiently met the established milestones.
5. What is the result you’ve achieved, for example, are you satisfied with the result?
We are extremely satisfied with the results of the certification process with Global-Mark. Achieving ISO certification has not only validated our commitment to quality but has also significantly improved our internal processes. We appreciate the thoroughness of the certification process and the dedication of our team in ensuring compliance.
6. Have you observed any additional business advantages that arose as a result of achieving certification?
The certification has brought substantial value, not only in terms of meeting industry standards but also in improving our internal processes. We now place a stronger emphasis on continuous improvement, using the certification as a foundation for ongoing enhancements. It has opened new opportunities for our business, increased customer trust, and positioned us as a leader in our industry. We are committed to continuous improvement, and this certification provides a solid foundation for our ongoing efforts in maintaining and enhancing our quality management systems.
