1.Tell me about your company – what industry you are in and what does your business do?
Australian Quality Assurance & Superintendence Pty Ltd (AQUAS) is a national firm established in 1992, with extensive experience in the provision of consulting and auditing, and specialising in the development, maintenance and assessment of Management Systems in a wide range of industries, including construction and infrastructure, manufacturing and services. AQUAS’ own Integrated Business Operations System is certified to the Standards ISO 9001: 2015 for Quality, ISO 14001: 2015 for Environment and ISO 45001: 2018 for Work Health and Safety. AQUAS works with a variety government agencies and other public and private organisations providing the following services:
Second Party Audits of Single or Integrated Management Systems in the areas of: Quality – ISO 9001: 2015, Environment – 14001: 2015, Safety – ISO 45001: 2018, Asset Management – ISO 55001: 2014.
· Independent Environmental Auditing for construction and operation of projects classified as State Significant Developments (SSD), State Significant Infrastructure (SSI), Critical State Significant Infrastructure (CSSI) and others.
· Environmental Management Representative Role for construction and infrastructure projects
· Sustainability audits against ISC rating
· Contaminated Materials Management
· Development of Management Systems based on the requirements of each individual organisation and the requirements of the ISO Standards for Quality, Environment, Safety and Asset Management
· Internal auditing and maintenance of Management Systems for certified organisations
2. Can you please provide some top level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?
Our head office is based in North Sydney with a growing team located in QLD. We also provide services in VIC and WA.
3. Why did you go through certification?
Certification is vital to our business as an auditing and compliance company. AQUAS’s commitment to the ISO standards is demonstrated in the process of obtaining certification for our own Business Management System. Being ISO certified, AQUAS develops management systems to align to the Quality, Environment and Safety standards, applying experience in system implementation to ensure control systems and processes will relate to the organisation, and enabling implementation in everyday activities.
4. How did you find the process with Global-Mark?
We have been using Global-Mark for years as they recommend improvements with a solid understanding of our business and how we operate.
5. What is your outcome e.g. are you happy with the outcome?
We are happy to continue to be certified and work on improving our system and processes.
6. Are there any other business benefits you experienced as a result of becoming certified?
Being certified gives our clients assurance in the level of expertise that is expected in our industry.
