Update from the Australian Commission on the recommencement of assessments for the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards can commence from October 26th, 2020.
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare (The Commission) have advised us that recommencement of assessments for the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards can commence from October 26th, 2020. Due to the challenges with COVID-19, including travel restrictions between many areas of the country, we are permitted to have part of the assessment conducted remotely. However, there will need to be at least one assessor who is on site during the assessment and tentative arrangements are subject to review and approval by the Commission. Please note that our assessors are located in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast so depending on border restrictions at the time, planned assessments may not be able to go ahead in the other states and territories at this stage. In the event that this is the case the Commission will continue to maintain accreditation.
Meanwhile, Global-Mark have been in contact with all facilities that were due for an assessment in 2020 to commence arranging their assessments. Once we have further information from the Commission, be assured that we will be in contact to commence planning for 2021.
Attestation Statements are due to be submitted by 30/9/2020. Global-Mark are obliged to submit the names of all facilities who have not submitted their statements by the due date. Thank you to all of those who have already submitted their statement. For those of you who are yet to submit the statement, please send it to health@global-mark.com.au as soon as possible. Meanwhile, on behalf of Global-Mark, we hope you and your team have been able to keep safe and well during this very challenging year. Be assured, we have been thinking of you all and our Health team are looking forward to working with you all once again.
