Update from the Australian Commission on Safety and quality in Health Care (the Commission) on Health Service Accreditation in Response to COVID-19
The Commission have released the following announcement which is also accessible via their website, including a frequently asked questions section.
In summary,
- All planned initial assessments are now cancelled until further notice. Once the Commission has advised that onsite assessments can be rescheduled, your Client Manager will be in contact to plan revised dates. As indicated in their announcement, there will be a recovery phase to enable facilities and our health team to have enough time to plan the assessment.
- Those of you who are currently in a remediation period awaiting final assessment offsite can continue as a remote assessment. Your Client Manager will be in contact to confirm details.
- Those of you are currently in a remediation period awaiting final assessment onsite will need to wait until the Commission has advised that onsite assessments can recommence.
- There are 2 exceptions to this as noted on the website which will only effect a few of our clients. I will be in contact with them personally when required.
- All announced assessments will be pushed out for the length of this response and therefore future assessments will not be occurring 90 business days prior to your current expiry date. This will impact future planning for you all and once again, your Client Manager will in contact to discuss once the program is back in recovery phase.
