In New Zealand, the original CodeMark scheme operated under the legislative framework provided by the Building Act 2004, the Building (Product Certification) Regulations 2008 and specific CodeMark scheme rules.
The legislative framework was amended over time as follow:
– In 2021 with the introduction of the Building (Building Products and Methods, Modular Components, and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2021 (the Amendment Act 2021)
– In 2022 with the introduction of the Building (Product Certification) Regulations 2022 which commenced on 7 September 2022.The changes introduced by these new legislations lead to a need to update and refresh the schemes rule which was release on 2 September 2022.
The new scheme rules requires Product Certification Bodies to update their accreditation schedule with the Product certification accreditation body as well as gaining registration with MBIE
Global-Mark has now received the confirmation from the Product certification accreditation body that our application has been reviewed and accepted.
Being accredited is a pre-requisite for MBIE registration. We have already lodge our application and hope to gain registration shortly.
