Joanne HurstHuman Services & NDIS, Success of Clients

Warrina Services was founded by parents and community members who arranged social activities for people with a disability and registered as a Co-operative in 1986.

The service steadily grew and in 1997 introduced specialist support for people with a mental illness. Under this program we witnessed the lives of people be transformed as they moved from mental health facilities into their own homes. Initially people required intensive daily support but over time clients have become more independent, accessing social activities, participating in training and work and forming relationships.

Our mental health services have grown, and in addition to providing support to people experiencing mental ill health during acute phases of mental illness and recovery supports we provide, early intervention support, coordination and assistance to a diverse clientele of individuals with intellectual, physical, sensory and psych-social disabilities to have and maintain valued social roles in their community.

Warrina Services receives funding from the National Disability Insurance Agency and the Commonwealth Department of Health to provide support coordination, in-home and community access supports to people with a disability.

Warrina Services is a non-profit organisation that employs approx. 85 staff with Offices on Russell Street and Bridge Street in Toowoomba, Queensland

Warrina Services is a NDIS Registered Provider, being registered and Certified gives us more credibility in a competitive marketplace, we are always looking at a continuous improvement model of service delivery.

Auditors Samantha and Kelly-Anne were a joy to work with. We greatly appreciated their professionalism throughout the audit process. They demonstrated a continuous improvement lens and displayed a practical operational knowledge relevant to the human services and disability field and were always client-centric and strengths-based which we found very congruent with Warrina’s values of enrich, enable and empower.

Very satisfied. The Audit Final Report highlighting zero non-conformities achieved and additionally noted no areas of improvement.

We are awaiting NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission approval and are proud to be an NDIS Registered Provider.
