1. Tell me about your company – what industry you are in and what does your business do?
Wolper Jewish Hospital is the only not-for-profit Jewish hospital in Australia. Since opening its door on its present site in 1961, Wolper has become one of Sydney’s leading private hospitals. We provide rehabilitation, medical and palliative care of the highest quality to the general community in a framework of Jewish culture, religious and dietary requirements.
Everyone is welcome at Wolper Jewish Hospital – we are a hospital that stays true to our founders principles of dignity, compassion and outstanding quality care for all. We offer truly personalised care to individuals from all cultural and religious backgrounds.
2. Can you please provide some top level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?
Our facilities include 57-private rooms each with ensuite, fully equipped rehabilitation gym and one of Sydney’s largest hydrotherapy pools. Currently we employ around 180 staff.
3. What motivated you to pursue accreditation?
Accreditation is a licensing requirement but we are keen to undergo the process in order to ensure the highest level of safety and the best possible care for our patients.
4. What was your experience like when working through the accreditation process with Global-Mark?
We have worked with Global-Mark for the past few accreditations and we are very happy with the professional service and support we have received.
There was excellent communication before, during and after the assessment and we were given the opportunity to respond to questions throughout the 2-day assessment. The Global-Mark team, including our client manager, were very approachable and took a lot of the stress out of our first short notice assessment.
5. What is the result you’ve achieved, for example, are you satisfied with the result?
The findings were fair, some recommendations were made and these were quickly actioned. Ultimately, the process helped us to improve our practice at Wolper.
6. Have you observed any additional business advantages that arose as a result of achieving accreditation?
Accreditation lets our patients and their families know that Wolper Jewish Hospital adheres to best practice in all areas of the Hospital giving them peace of mind that they are in a safe hospital and can expect the best of care.
