Stoddart was founded in 1959 by Tom Stoddart and his brother Albert in a small workshop in Coorparoo, Queensland, Australia. From these modest beginnings the business has grown to become a market leading broad based manufacturer and distributor of metal products to the commercial building industry.
Product segments include Food Service Equipment, Kitchen & Architectural metalwork contracting, Plumbing fixtures, Outdoor infrastructure, Street furniture and Contract metal fabrication.
2. Can you please provide some top level information about your organisation, such as size, number of staff, office locations or similar?
Stoddart employs over 520 staff throughout Australia and is proud to be a 100% Australian owned family company. Stoddart has office and warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
3. Why did you go through certification?
Stoddart moved from one distribution product to another and required certification of gas products to ensure operations utilise standardised processes and procedures to guarantee consistent, reliable and quality outputs.
This process was vitally important to our company to keep the time to a minimum through Global-Mark’s support as we had to minimise the transition from one supplier to another whilst achieving gas approvals.
4. How did you find the process with Global-Mark?
We found the process very easy, approachable and easy to talk to.
5. What is your outcome e.g. are you happy with the outcome?
Global-Mark (Scott Trevitt) ensured that we met our timeframe and continually provided Technical support for the ever changing Gas Standards.
6. Are there any other business benefits you experienced as a result of becoming certified?
We gained the benefits of the requirements of the Standards and the opportunities that certification allows Stoddart to maintain its’ competitive advantage through innovation and continuous improvement and full certification.
