GC Civil’s original ‘grass roots’ were established in 1969 when we started as a landscaping company. Since then, we have evolved to being the market leader in the design, supply, construction, and certification of noise barriers and retaining walls. GC Civil is a 100% Australian owned company with a Head Office based in Wollongong, servicing the eastern seaboard of Australia.
We commenced our certification pathway with Global-Mark in 2016 and have been extremely satisfied with their service and the professionalism of our auditor, Joe Fernandes. In 2020, with the bridge replacement program getting underway across NSW, we decided to extend our certification to include Precast Concrete, Bridgeworks and Roadworks. This was in order to support our application to become a prequalified contractor in the National Prequalification Scheme, within the categories of R2 Roadworks and B1 Bridgeworks.
Our certification confirms the maturity and effectiveness of our company Management Systems, reducing the risk for our clients and providing assurance to them that we have the appropriate Quality, WHS and Environmental procedures and systems in place to safely manage and deliver their projects. In addition, it also helps us to standardize and improve business processes, deliver consistent quality outputs, increase internal efficiency, and benchmark ourselves against industry best-practices. As a result of our certification, we have the framework in place for Quality, WHS, Environment so that processes can be systemised to ensure that records are kept, problems are identified and corrected to prevent their recurrence, and are always evolving to keep up with changing industry requirements and expectations.
We have had ISO certification for 5 years and it has evolved the way the business operates. This is evident in our performance record of no serious WHS injuries, environmental accidents, unresolved defects, waste spills or any environmental, EPA, WHS or SafeWork infringements.
