Focus Care – helping people make the most of their strengths.

Joanne HurstSuccess of Clients

What’s your focus? Whatever your goals, to take on tomorrow, you have to focus on today.

Working closely with those who need support, Focus Care offers in-home aged care, disability support and dementia care that champions growth, unlocks potential, and inspires progress.

As an approved provider of Commonwealth funded Home Care Packages, the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) and with all services also available with private funding, they cater to clients of all ages.

Growing together.

A family business, Focus Care was founded by Christina Harlamb. While working in aged care at a policy level, and experiencing dementia in her own family, she discovered a real need for support that was genuinely built around an individual’s needs. It led her to start Focus Care, and offer one-on-one care tailored to clients, along with embedding Montessori methods at the heart of their dementia care program.

Focus Care’s everyday services include personal care, domestic assistance, transport, home nursing, social support and creative therapies, including art therapy, pet therapy and music therapy.

It’s a model that has seen an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. The team is growing fast, with offices and support workers across three states, and now offering services in the greater Sydney area, regional NSW, Newcastle region, the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne.

The difference certification makes

Focus Care worked with Global Mark to achieve ACIS certification – a big deal in the support services industry.

While Focus Care were already accredited by the NDIS and Aged Care Quality Standards, ACIS certification means they can give their clients even more confidence in their policies, processes and documents, while the process helped them identify potential areas to further improve their offering.

Executive Quality Manager at Focus Care, Janice Hadgraft, said of the certification announcement, “We’re delighted that Focus Care met all requirements of the recent audit, with no gaps identified. It’s proof that all our hard work is paying off, and that we can achieve great results by focusing on what matters most to clients.”

Focus Care received their ACIS certification in December 2020, and as a result, are already finding opportunities to grow their business outside of NDIS and Commonwealth Home Care provision and enable even more people to work towards their goals.
