Bubbletent Australia is a glamping experience that’s unlike any other. Perched above the cliffs of Capertee Valley, Australia’s own answer to the Grand Canyon, which also doubles as one of only two places in Australia that holds an IBA accreditation (Important Bird Area) where some 237 bird species call the valley home. Part of Wiradjuri country, the vast rolling hills create for some impressive scenery during the day that make room for one of the most spellbinding stargazing experiences at night. All from the comfort of a queen-size bed despite being off-grid with progressive sustainable practices, don’t however impact all the amenities of a high-end hotel, mixed with the most charming aspects of camping. (Hot chocolates with marshmallows in a mug over the fire anyone?!)
Watch a lazy sunset here and it’ll be hard not to feel the awe of nature…
With three current Bubbletents and another three in the works the small company likes to think of itself as a start up where the experience is constantly tweaked and adjusted according to guest feedback and implemented at every turn. The owners have even seen an opportunity to introduce innovation even in hiking on the 1000 acre property, through introducing guests to solar kettles and solar backpacks that can charge devices as they’re enjoying the scenery at their own pace.
The NSW Department of Planning requirements are that all ecotourism facilities are required to gain an Environmental Management System ISO14001.2015 accreditation. Which admittedly we found to be an overly onerous requirement for our small size business. We needed to generate the necessary documentation to certification. None-the-less it has been an experience made easier through the patience and professional conduct of Global-Mark auditors, Kelly Gillen and Chris Weston.
Global-Mark were simply amazing. Honestly, not sure how this process would have gone without Kelly and Chris, chances are I’d still be on my 25th compliance revision by now!
However, they were good enough to understand the significance of the undertaking and play the diplomat, while always making sure the compliance was adhered to. Kelly and Chris also made us aware of the stage that we were at as a business and treated us as such as opposed to blindly following the need to check boxes which would have comparatively placed us in the same category as organizations thousands times our size.
Global-Mark wasn’t the cheapest option when exploring the various ISO services but it also wasn’t the dearest, I did have a really great feeling about Kelly that was many times validated over and over and I would have regretted not going with Global-Mark. Through her and Chris I would have no hesitation in championing Global-Mark and recommending them to anyone looking voluntarily or required by compliance to go through gaining certification.
